All these benefits, and yet we have yet to discuss how Lucas Color Card’s laminated Teslin cards are far superior to PVC cards. Our cards last longer and look better after years of use – compared to PVC cards. PVC is toxic to Earth and humans, breaking down to emit dioxin. Teslin, on the other hand, is made of silica, basically, sand. We print on Teslin and then overlaminate with extremely durable polyester laminate. These cards are built to last. They don’t quickly end up in landfill like other card maker's cards. We’ve had customers show us cards in use for 10 years!

Library Barcode Labels
Another fast-growing product with libraries is our item barcodes.
In 2023, we developed a new type of barcode label. It wasn’t until we had come up with a label that could be placed in a cup of water for a week and come out looking pristine that we knew that we had a good product to offer.
Since that time we’ve seen explosive growth. Currently, we offer sheets of labels for all your applications. We can ship orders in just a few days.
What is in a barcode?
Your barcodes likely contain more information than you’re aware of.
Most library barcodes contain check digits. They’re the last digit in the barcode and the ‘human readable’ number below. They are algorithmically generated to ensure proper decoding when the barcode is scanned.
This is why it looks like there are missing numbers when you look in your box of library cards. If you ignore the “random” last digit, you’ll see the sequence.
We’ll ask you to send a picture of a few barcodes so we can be sure to select the correct algorithm if your barcodes contain check digits.
Barcodes also often contain start/stop characters. They’re at the beginning and end of the barcode. Your scanners don’t display them, but our scanners have been programmed to display them when we scan your barcodes. We want to ensure the barcodes we print for you *exactly* match what you’re currently using, so we know ours will work with your system.
